0 Mother jailed on suspicion of giving children toilet bowl cleaner to drink

PORT ORANGE, Florida – Port Orange police said they arrested a woman after she allegedly had her young children drink toilet bowl cleaner, and believe she also drank the liquid.

Police said they responded to a home on Timber Trail around 10:30 a.m. Saturday for a report of a suicide attempt.

Officers said they found the woman and her two children had consumed the chemical.

Authorities identified the mother as 29-year-old Amelia West. Her two children are ages 3 months and 2 years old. More

0 Man faces a year in jail for purchasing a lottery ticket

WINCHESTER – Four months after buying a Hoosier Lottery scratch-off ticket that won him $900, a Winchester man’s luck appears to have run out.

Authorities say Mickey L. Stone, 36, 501 E. Fourth St., violated state law by buying that winning ticket at the Winchester liquor store where he was employed.

Stone was charged this week with unlawful purchase of a lottery ticket by an employee, a misdemeanor carrying a maximum one-year jail term.

According to a report filed by Michael Bare, an investigator for the Hoosier Lottery, Stone bought the Diamond Mine scratch-off ticket at Hughes Pic-A-Pac, 226 W. Washington St., on June 6. At the time, Stone had worked at the store for about a year, the report said. More

0 Man robs four Subway stores in four days because Jared Diet didn’t work

Alabama – A teenager allegedly told cops he robbed four Subway sandwich shops in less than a week because he was miffed the “Jared Diet” didn’t work for him.

Zachary Rapheal Torrance, 18, was captured in a Walmart store Thursday night after a shopper recognized him from photos posted on the local police’s Facebook page, authorities said.

“I don’t know if he was kidding or not, but he said he had tried the Jared Diet and it hadn’t worked for him, so he wanted his money back,” said Hueytown Police Chief Chuck Hagler, according to the news site AL.com.

0 Mom, 18, Arrested For Photo Of Toddler On Hook

Virginia – An 18-year-old mother has been charged with child abuse after a photo surfaced showing her crying toddler hanging by his shirt from a hook inside a Virginia residence.

Alexis Breeden was arrested yesterday on the felony charge after the disturbing image came to the attention of the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.

The photo of Breeden’s 14-month-old son, which was apparently snapped last month, shows the child dangling from a planter hook above a door frame.

The photo was posted to Facebook in retaliation by the child’s father, Anthony Welch, following an argument with Breeden. More
