Houston - Police walked into a southwest Houston apartment in June and discovered 9-year-old Ayahna Comb's body wrapped in a blanket in a drawer of her mother's refrigerator.
Six months after making that horrific discovery, Harris County prosecutors charged Amber Keyes, Comb's mother, for causing Injury to a Child.
Court records show the charges came through on Monday.
Keyes was booked into the Harris County jail on Tuesday, according to police spokeswoman Jodi Silva. Her bail has been set at $50,000 according to court records.
The lengthy delay between the discovery of Ayahna's body and her mother's arrest was due in part because investigators had to spend months waiting for autopsy results from the Medical Examiner's Office. More
