NEW YORK – The suspect in a vicious assault of a woman carrying her baby last week in the Bronx has been arrested, police said Tuesday.
Alonzo Brown, 18, is facing a number of charges including robbery, attempted robbery, assault and criminal possession of stolen property.
In an attack caught on surveillance video, the mother was walking on East Tremont Avenue just south of Bronx Park around 12:45 p.m. Friday with her 2-month-old child strapped to her when the assailant ran up from behind and drop-kicked her, knocking her and the baby to the sidewalk before he ran off with her cellphone.
“I was holding my baby … in front, and I felt something push me hard from the back, and I fell … on my baby,” the woman said in Spanish to CBS2. More Watch video at Nutty News Videos
