Chicago police Superintendent Garry McCarthy today said the department had a sufficient number of officers at Montrose Beach on Sunday to quell a melee that erupted at an unlicensed party.
"What I can tell you is, Montrose and the rest of the parks around the city are receiving significant attention, and we'll continue to do so," McCarthy told reporters.
McCarthy, who often holds a weekly press conference to highlight the department’s gun seizures, expressed frustration at reporters' questions about the melee in which four officers were injured.
