UNAA in conjunction with AFRISENT    Presents a Fashion Show & Auction    100% proceeds benefiting   "UNAA Emerging Leaders Scholarship" 2014               Click here to donate to the Scholarship Fund *DEADLINE for scholarship applications is July 31st, 2014 (No exceptions). Refer to criteria below for eligibility requirements. Refer to application process below for a list of the supporting documents needed (i.e., reference forms, evidence of GPA, etc.) Incomplete applications will not be considered. Type or print legibly. Illegible applications will be returned to you. You may also download a copy of the application online: www.unaa.org You will be notified by e-mail in July regarding the status of your application If you have any questions about the application process, please email UNAA at: secretary@unaa.org Purpose The Ugandan North American Association provides scholarships of $1,000 annually to Ugandan college students in North America showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need while attending an accredited higher-level educational institution. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluated essays that are submitted. Scholarships are intended for future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study.   Award Components Each year UNAA will select two [2] recipients, each of whom will receive a $1,000 annual scholarship that rewards Ugandan college students pursuing higher-level education.   Award Criteria Be currently attending an accredited and approved higher-level educational institution within North America; Show leadership potential; Demonstrate a dedication to community service; Present evidence of financial need; A minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale; Not possess a degree from a 4-year college or university when applying for the scholarship. Application Components Applicant must submit the following items: A completed and submitted application; (For the application for please visit the UNAA Website at www.unaa.org and under programs you can download a copy of the application form. Click here to be taken there.)  A 400-450 word essay on "What would you like to do to change Uganda and the lives of Ugandans for the better?"; Two (2) character references in the form of a letter of recommendation; Current college transcript sent to UNAA directly from the attended school. Deadline for the application is Thursday, July 31st, 2014. Applications postmarked after this date will not be considered.
