They have returned without the much coveted Cup but the crowds
at Bourget Airport ( the third largest airport in Paris ) received them
to a real heroic welcome! Cheers, ululations,etc absorbed the show
as the 23 heroic boys together with their coachjes and other officials
descended on the tarmac. Even the policemen and firemen on duty
were moved to full emotion as they too participated in the excitement!
It was even near chaotic when the players came out of the lounge to meet
their waiting relatives and get ready to be driven home. All the boys were mobbed
by the huge ecstatic crowds who madly cheered their names. And there was
real commotion to touch on attacker Karim Benzema and midfielder Paul Pogba.
An African technician told the press that he had been standing there for six hours
in order to have a real glimpse of the boys who are now seen as France's heroes
who did their very top level best to show how French football is strongly returning
to world sports scene. Many people in the crowds were of the opinion that the team
will definitely take the Cup come 2018. Most of the players moved away in their personal
cars, with defender Mamadou Sokho rolling what appeared a mini-Rolls Royce!
The players are now going to their homes to rest for about ten days, then they will be
summoned to Paris to resume serious training sessions for a friendly match with Spain,
then the team will participate in other competitions that will lead to the stiff European
Championship League.
French TV hosted defender Mamadou Sokho, also a hero in Brazil, and from him they learnt
the team's determination to march to the top as they will get more experience on terrain.
Sokho was very optimistic on the future of the new team.
