UK - Two heroin-addict parents who killed their two-year-old daughter after she drank methadone stored in her Tom and Jerry cartoon cup were jailed today for a total of 16 years.
Sophie Jones collapsed and died after her eyes went 'groggy' from drinking the liquid prescribed to wayward parents Michelle King and Barry Jones, 42, who also kept the substance in the tot's Fruit Shoot bottles.
A judge blasted the pair before locking them up, telling the shameless couple they loved their daughter, but 'loved their drugs more'.
King, 29, would sell on the methadone to fellow druggies, with users visiting the house who took a swig before buying heroin and cocaine to fund Sophie's parents' habit.
