The Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit has charged one teen in connection to a shooting which injured another teen on Wednesday.
Northport Police Department was alerted to the shooting at black welfare supported Northgate Circle Apartments around 8:35 p.m.
An 18-year-old victim had been taken to DCH with at least two gunshot wounds to his upper thighs. Two male subjects were detained at the scene.
The victim told investigators he was walking through the complex when he was confronted by the two subjects about remarks they had heard the victim making.
One subject allegedly pulled a gun from his waist band and the victim attempted to grab the gun. The victim fled the scene after he was shot in the leg during the struggle.
Antwan Marshall, 18, and a 17-year-old male were taken into custody and questioned.
Witnesses at the scene told investigators they saw Marshall pull the gun and shoot, but the 17-year-old was never seen with a gun.
Marshall was charged with second degree assault. He is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
The 17-year-old has not been charged at this time.
