0 Lake County Deputy Sheriff Eric Francke was found not guilty of solicitation of a sex act and obstruction BUT still fired from his job

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has fired an officer who recently faced charges of soliciting a sex act and obstructing justice.

An arbitrator this week upheld the department’s firing of former Deputy Eric Francke, according to a news release from Sgt. Sara Balmes.

At the trial in December, a judge found Francke, 34, not guilty of both charges on a directed verdict, meaning the defense was not required to make a case for his innocence.

Prosecutors had alleged that Francke hired a woman in 2013 through a website known for providing escorts and used text messages to arrange to pay her $300 for a night at his home in Antioch.  Francke’s lawyers argued there was no mention of sex in the texts and noted that police intercepted the woman before any potential illegal act happened.
