A woman was killed and at least seven other people were shot in Chicago in a four-hour period Monday, just one day after a holiday weekend that saw 13 people killed and 58 others wounded.

At 7:05 p.m., the 19-year-old woman was walking with a group in the 2200 block of West 69th Street when someone rode up on a bicycle and opened fire, shooting her in the back, police said.

She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was pronounced dead at 10:11 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. Her name was withheld Tuesday morning pending notification of family members.

The most recent nonfatal shooting happened in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side, where a 19-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by attack.

He was standing on a sidewalk with a group of people about 10:40 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 89th Street when a dark gray sedan pulled up and fired shots, striking him in the buttocks, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in “stable” condition.

About 10 minutes earlier, a man and teen girl were shot in the West Englewood neighborhood in another drive-by.
