WHERE ARE THE HATE CRIME CHARGES????
A man released on parole last month used a hammer to strike two 55-year-old women walking near Navy Pier, causing a head wound to one woman that took about 30 stitches to close, Cook County prosecutors said today.
Assistant State’s Attorney Lorraine Scaduto said Jawaun Westbrook had been convicted of two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer and one count of attempted robbery.
Westbrook, 28, of the 400 block of East Ohio Street, was ordered held on no bail this afternoon by Judge Peggy Chiampas. He is charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
