Five people are being questioned by Plainfield authorities in connection to the shooting of a man during a disagreement, according to the police chief of the southwest suburb.

The victim was found shot in the leg this morning inside a townhome in the 20000 block of George Washington Drive, a government subsidized housing area.

Plainfield Police Chief John Konopek said. The victim was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora with injuries that are not life-threatening, Konopek said.

Police received a call about 10 a.m. today from a man who said he was wanted on a warrant and wanted to turn himself in, Konopek said. When police arrived at the townhome, they found that the man had been shot.

“All we know is there was some kind of disagreement,” he said.

Konopek said police believe the disagreement was with people in a nearby townhome.

Konopek said “there is no danger to the community.”

Police from Joliet also responded to the call.

Konopek said Plainfield police plan to release more details later today.
