SPOKANE, Washington - A judge sentenced a teenager to 20 years in prison on Thursday for the murder of a World War II veteran.

Kenan Adams-Kinard took a plea deal in January before his trial was set to start for the death of Delbert Belton, 88.

Prior to his sentencing, he was expected to serve between 20 and 27 years for the August 2013. The judge stated that the standard sentence for the teenager's crime is between 240 and 330 months. He will be serve his sentence in a juvenile facility until he is 21-years-old. There is a possibility for early release once he has served 20 years.

Adams-Kinard, who was 16 at the time of Belton's murder, is one of two teenagers arrested for Belton's death. He was expected to go to trial January 12 alongside Demetrius Glenn. Court documents contend teenagers punched and beat Belton to death during a robbery in North Spokane. Both suspects were 16 at the time of the beating. More
