SANTA BARBARA, HONDURAS (AP) – Tears and anger poured out for the dark-haired beauty who was to have flown to London on Wednesday to represent Honduras at the Miss World pageant, only to be found shot to death with her sister on a remote river bank.

After the bodies of the reigning Miss Honduras, 19-year-old Maria Jose Alvarado, and her sister Sofia, 23, were discovered early in the day, police announced that the sister's boyfriend had confessed to killing them last week in a fit of jealousy over his girlfriend dancing with another man.

Dozens of relatives and friends of the beauty queen gathered for a candlelight vigil at the college she attended, remembering a down-to-earth young woman who aspired to be a diplomat, went out without makeup and worked as a model to help support a humble family. More

0 Japanese woman suspected of killing former husbands, partners

TOKYO – Japanese police were looking for traces of poison in the home of a woman arrested on suspicion of killing her husband, one of six men who have died while in a relationship with her over the past 20 years.

Police say they suspect insurance claims or inheritance money could be the motive for the killings.

Chisako Kakehi, 67, was arrested Wednesday in Kyoto prefecture after cyanide was found in the body of her 75-year-old husband, a senior official at the investigative department told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from Kyoto. He spoke on condition of anonymity, citing the pending investigation.

Kakehi has denied involvement in the deaths and has not been formally charged.

Her latest marriage lasted one month before her husband died in December. More

0 Attorney Investigated For Hypnotizing Female Clients

Ohio – A lawyer is under criminal investigation for hypnotizing a female client during meetings and directing her to engage in a series of sexual activities while in a trance and under his control, police report.

The probe of Michael Fine, 57, was detailed yesterday in an emergency court motion filed by the Lorain County Bar association, which is seeking an immediate suspension of the lawyer, who has been practicing for more than 30 years.

According to the court records, a second woman recently told police that she believed that Fine sought to hypnotize her during meetings in his office (where the pair discussed the woman’s divorce case).

As detailed in an affidavit prepared by an investigator with the Lorain County prosecutor, “Jane Doe” hired Fine last year to represent her in a child custody matter. The woman recently contacted cops to report that she had “strange memories and feelings” after a series of meetings with Fine that occurred in his office and in a conference room at the county courthouse. 0 Baby Sitter Sexually Assaulted 10-Year-Old

A Connecticut woman is facing charges after police say she had sex with her friend’s 10-year-old son while baby-sitting for the family in Meriden.

Police said Marybeth Rataic, 25, of Willimantic, sexually assaulted the boy three to four times over two weeks in August at the family home in Meriden while she baby-sat four children while their mother was in the hospital giving birth.

Rataic was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with three counts of first-degree sexual assault and seven counts of risk of injury to a minor/impairing the morals of children.

The boy told investigators the sex took place on the living room couch and in his parents’ bedroom. He said Rataic took off his clothes and encouraged the sexual contact, according to the warrant for Rataic’s arrest. More
