(BOLINGBROOK) A Bolingbrook man found dead in a pond in the southwest suburb Tuesday morning drowned in an apparent accident, police said.
A landscaping crew saw the body of a male floating facedown in the pond in the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive about 10:52 a.m. and called authorities, Bolingbrook police Lt. Michael Rompa said.
He has since been identified as Basilio Fuentes-Garcia, 43, of Bolingbrook, Rompa said.
An autopsy conducted Wednesday by the Will County Coroner’s office found he drowned, Rompa said. There were no signs of trauma, and results of a toxicology report are pending.
His death appears to be accidental, with alcohol as a contributing factor, Rompa said.
Bolingbrook police and the Will County Coroner’s office are handling the investigation.
