Make Kiira EV tractor instead Kiira
The Saturday Monitor of July 12 had a story about the Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperation, Ms Amelia Kyambadde, assuring Kiira Motors Corporation of government funding for the initial production and setting up of a factory for the Kiira EV car project.I would sincerely propose to both the government and Kiira Motors to give priority to the agriculture sector which employs majority of Ugandans including the youth, by directing our national resources to initiate the production of a Kiira tractor which I believe has higher multiplier benefits than the Kiira car EV!
The Kiira tractor would possibly be cost-friendly to enable farmers open up more land for more farm production and this will encourage investors to set up agricultural-related factories thus create more jobs and employment for the youth.
