They think Air travel is for Ministers, CEOs and wazungu only!!!
Its real stupidity! It should stop. You see ocen every time there is technology these stupid thinking Mps and technocrats think about only how the Govt or few individuals can benefit highest.
e.g. they hoard landing rights so that only few airlines can get them. The airlines bamboozle them saying its expensive and all that bullshit.
Only tanzania has allowed a new player / airline to come in with a new model of flights. One can fly from Mwanza in the morning to sell fish (freshwater) in Dar and fly back in the evening with plenty cash in the pocket.
South Africa has Mango etc but these were sort sabotaged by other companies ie. you could fly from Cape to Joburg for 80 dollars return. The South African Airways / parasatel could not match the model and price. They made losses but govt competition authority refused to protect them and instead encouraged the competition.
Many SA citizens can fly now.....
Why are the Uganda Civil aviation authorities not proactive and invite this same company to operate in Uganda e.g Kitgum, Mrorto, mbale to Entebbe?
Simple they only think of their stomachs.
In Uganda the majority do not have access to Broadband unlike in Kenya! so who is more educated / Knowledgeable? Ugandans or Kenyans?
