DEKALB (WIFR) -- A man from DeKalb who hadn't been seen since Saturday has been found dead in the Kishwaukee River.
The Sheriff's Office says 23-year-old Steven Schulz's body was found just after 1:00 Wednesday afternoon in the Kishwaukee River west of Annie Glidden Road north of Rt 72.
The DeKalb County Coroner Dennis Miller says Schulz was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning.
Police say Schulz's death is still under investigation. They also say Annie Glidden Road north of Rt. 2 to River lane is closed except to local residents until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night and may be closed periodically afterwards during the investigation.
DEKALB COUNTY (WIFR) – A 23-year-old DeKalb County man is missing. His truck was found by DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies on Annie Glidden Road north of highway 72 near the Kishwaukee River bridge.
Steven Schultz was last seen Sunday. His truck was spotted early Monday morning by a patrolling deputy. Once it was determined that Schultz was missing, several police departments conducted an extensive search of the area this morning complete with dogs.
Schultz is still missing at this point.
