A Chicago Police officer shot and seriously wounded a man after he opened fire at officers during a foot chase in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood early Friday.

About 4 a.m., officers received a call of a man with a gun at the intersection of West 74th Street and South Princeton Avenue, said Fraternal Order of Police Spokesman Pat Camden.
