Las Malvinas is an unresolved colonial question .
There are three reasons to protest against the British occupation of
the islands Las Malvinas: Keeping colonies today is a disgrace to
steal the Argentines and fish oil is a crime, and to have a
nuclear-armed military base into a zone of peace is unheard of. "It
was a really good article you wrote, but it says so Maldives - not
Malvinas." So wrote a good friend to me when I a few years ago had
written a long article in The laborer. I was, of course, have to
answer that I had mistakenly confused the two groups of islands,
located at their global ocean. Maldives as an independent nation in
the Indian Ocean and Las Malvinas as an Argentine archipelago in the
South Atlantic - occupied by Britain.
To raise their voice against the British occupation the Argentine
Malvinas islands are raising voice against colonialism, imperialism
and war. There is just so much between the Maldives and Las Malvinas,
as there is between the colonial power Britain and the colonized
islands Las Malvinas. I think that over 90 percent of the Danish
population share my friend's situation. We do not know that Las
Malvinas is the authentic name of the archipelago, as the British call
the Falklands. And we are not aware that the Danish media and Danish
politicians have acquired and foisted upon us British colonialist view
of the world, and we believe that the islands called the Falklands,
for that is how we know them. In this as in so many other areas of
education, culture, media coverage and dominant bourgeois political
rhetoric poisoned many people's understanding of the world and
knowledge of the colonial and imperialitisk intellectual baggage.
The colonization of The islands called Las Malvinas.
They do not belong to Great Britain, but Argentina, who as a young,
independent republic day 185 years ago, legal and military control of
the islands, located a few hundred kilometers from the Argentine
