PHOTO: Another police sergeant inspects the scene of the accident
A Chicago Police Department sergeant was taken to an area hospital after a collision at Garfield Boulevard and Indiana Avenue in the city's Washington Park neighborhood.
The crash happened just before 11 p.m. Preliminary reports indicated the sergeant was in an unmarked car that somehow came into contact with a grey sedan.
Police haven't said yet how the crash occurred. It didn't appear that the second driver was injured.
The unmarked car ended up with its passenger side wrapped around a nearby light pole.
