But the silliest thing is that parties do not own votes. Voters do – and they’ll vote for whoever they want to.
Scrubone is quite right. A majority of New Zealanders voted at the last election to retain MMP. We were not amongst that number. The will of what was a significant majority prevailed.
By all means, let Labour campaign on removing the coat-tailing provisions of MMP. But David Cunliffe would be very unwise to presume that he knows better than the voters whose support he seeks.
