A Chicago woman is facing several charges after police said she took off in a SUV that had a 13-year-old boy inside after she had crashed into the vehicle this morning near the Indiana and Illinois border.

Shortly after 5:30 a.m., Indiana State Police got a 911 call from a man saying he had just been carjacked by a woman on eastbound Interstate 80 just inside the Illinois border, said police.

According to a preliminary investigation, a silver 2005 Chevrolet Suburban was eastbound on I-80 near mile-marker 162 when a beige 2006 Chevrolet van crashed into the back of the Suburban. When both vehicles stopped, the driver of the Suburban got out of his vehicle to check on the driver of the van.
