A Chicago White Sox game turned violent for one Chicago Cubs fan last week after he says he was punched in the face and nearly lost the ability to see out of his left eye.

The 28-year-old baseball fan's first venture to U.S. Cellular Field was supposed to be a fun night out with friends, but his Cubs attire apparently sparked an argument that led to an altercation.
Steven Rebenda said he was exiting the stadium when three men started yelling at him for wearing Cubs gear.

"As they approached they just continued to talk they didn't try to physically threaten me at all," he said.

But that quickly changed when Rebenda said one man punched him in the left eye with something more than a fist, he claimed.

"I've been punched in the face but I've never really felt pain like that before," Rebenda said. "When I felt my eye and saw how bad the laceration was on my nose I knew it wasn't just a fist that had hit me."

Rebenda believes he was hit with a set of car keys.
